Description
This week we saw our communities come together in response to Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman’s proposal deputizing gun owners to form an "emergency" militia. We rallied alongside groups like NYCLU and other progressive allies to voice our opposition to any claims that this proposal keeps us safe. Further militarizing and weaponizing certain groups against others will not keep us safe and we reject any notion from Blakeman that his efforts are done to protect Jews.
We know that what actually keeps us safe is solidarity and being in community with one another.
Join us at our upcoming community meeting, Wednesday April 17th. We will connect with the themes and rituals of Passover, share updates on our ongoing campaign work, including responding to Blakeman’s militia, and take action in support of parole justice.
Whether this is your first meeting, or you have been a long time member, our monthly community meetings are a great way to connect with other progressive Jews on Long Island. We have many ways for you to get involved in our work to build power and community.
