Description
We want to take advantage of the last summer month by having our August community meeting in person!
At our meeting, we’ll be workshopping a new training on community safety and how to build a future beyond the limits of our fears. We’ll discuss what we personally think community safety means and how our Jewish communities more broadly approach this topic.
Our ongoing campaigns with Release Aging People from Prison have always been grounded in a longer term goal of reimagining systems of safety where all people have access to a safe and thriving future. This workshop is a continuation of that goal!
Our chapter leaders have been hard at work bringing together a program that explores the many nuances of how we build that future. We’ll start with our personal assumptions and connotations of safety and move to an exploration of how Jewish fear and antisemitism has informed the ways our Jewish communities make choices about how to stay safe.
For COVID safety and to respect individual kashrut needs, we will provide drinks and snacks.
Bend the Arc continues to approach the COVID-19 pandemic from a place of prioritizing the health, safety and well being of our community members. We are not asking attendees to wear a mask at our upcoming event, however we will always invite people to do what they need to do within their comfort level. We are asking that all attendees provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of the event. Please bring proof of vaccination to the event
