Thank you to those who weighed in on our campaign selection process! We are really excited to be partnering with Release Aging People in Prison (RAPP) for another year in the pursuit of passing two parol justice bills in the NY State Legislature– Elder Parole and Fair & Timely Parole. Both bills are in line with our Jewish values of transformation and teshuva and would support returning loved ones to their families instead of endless incarceration.
We will also continue to be supporters of the IONY campaign to advocate for a state budget which invests in people over corporations.
Now that we’ve made our decisions, it’s time to get to work!
At our February meeting, our campaign co-leaders will share more about the parole justice campaign and how you can take action with the chapter. We will also discuss updates on our Jewish community letter to expel George Santos.
We can make a real impact this year in parole justice by advocating for passage of legislation and by educating our communities on this issue. But we need you to join our campaign work!
