March Community Meeting: Fund Excluded Workers Campaign Teach-in

*REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CLOSED* Please email [email protected] if you wish to attend.

Join Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Long Island for our monthly community meeting! This month we are offering a teach in on the Fund Excluded Workers Campaign as part of Invest in Our New York.

Many workers across New York State are still feeling the financial hit from the covid pandemic. It is so important that relief is provided and we must help make that a reality.

We are joining our partners in raising awareness and applying pressure to our New York officials to Fund Excluded Workers. Last year’s landmark Fund for Excluded Workers gave life-saving aid to 130,000 workers for losses due to covid. It is imperative to renew the fund this year to reach the 75,000 who were left empty-handed and the estimated 100,000 more who did not learn about it in time to apply.

At this teach-in we will hear more in depth information about the campaign and the goals we hope to meet. We will explore why it’s important for us to show up for this campaign as Jews during this Purim season when it is our responsibility to make sure those who feel the impacts of financial loss are taken care of. We will also learn the importance of this campaign to Long Island.

Lastly, we will take action together by calling Governor Hochul’s office pushing to invest more in the final budget!
