Join Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Long Island for a virtual event celebrating the holiday of Sukkot!
Sukkot is a harvest festival. It's also a holiday when we give thanks for food and shelter, while acknowledging the temporary nature of these comforts by sitting in a structure called a Sukkah that is open to the elements. This year, amidst a global pandemic that has caused economic insecurity for so many, the relevance of this holiday could not be more clear.
At this event, we'll gather together to mark the holiday's themes in the context of social injustice today, build community together, engage in holiday ritual, and share opportunities to take action. We'll also raise money for Long Island's Interfaith Nutrition Network to support our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity.
