Why I’m protesting Bannon this Thursday in NYC

Yesterday more than 150 Jews and allies showed up at the office of Jewish Congressman Lee Zeldin to deliver our petition with over 5,000 signatures demanding that he drop Steve Bannon from headlining his fundraiser this week.

And we’re not stopping there — Congressman Zeldin hasn't disinvited Bannon, so on Thursday in Manhattan we’re going into the streets again to protest Zeldin's fundraiser.

Will you join us to increase the pressure and send a powerful message to our elected officials?

Yesterday, I was so proud to stand among a beautiful coalition of Bend the Arc members, supporters, and partners chanting “Steve Bannon’s brand of hate is not what makes Long Island great.”

I volunteered to hand-deliver our petition with 5,000 signatures because I’m outraged that my Jewish Congressman is supporting white supremacy and bigotry by welcoming Steve Bannon to his campaign. It’s an insult to my Jewish history and a violation of my Jewish values.

That’s why this Thursday in Manhattan we need a huge crowd to protest Congressman Zeldin’s fundraiser: to make it clear to him and every Member of Congress that Steve Bannon’s agenda threatens us all, and we won’t stand for bigotry in New York or anywhere in our government.

At yesterday’s rally, many of my neighbors said that they were attending their first protest — I was so proud! Whether this is your first or tenth time joining us in the streets, I hope you can be there as we tell Rep. Zeldin that we won’t stand for his decision to give a platform to Steve Bannon and white supremacy.
